Three days into week three

Last week I lost .5 pounds. I know reporting that was overdue but life has been really busy and I was hesitant to even mention that was all that I lost. However, I knew something like that was going to happen considering the debaucherous (is that even a word??) weekend I had with my family and let's face it, if I can eat, drink and be merry, yet still lose weight, I'm golden.

It's day three into week three of this challenge and I've been to the gym five times already (as per normal) and also been for a bike ride. Eating habits are similar, consuming 1400-1600 cals per day and I like I've fallen into a food and workout groove. My body feels great, albeit sore from all the workouts and mentally, I feel fantastic. My clothing fits better, I have way more muscle definition than when I started (hello abs... nice to be seeing more of you than before), and I actually like the food I'm eating. Granted, I miss cookies and cupcakes A LOT but I can usually calm that craving by shoving some fruit in my mouth.

I'll share one salad recipe with you all... because it's my newest experiment and I love it so much. I've been combining "spring mix" salad (because it's my favorite mix...thank you Dole), green apples, blackberries, craisins (less than 1/8th of a cup because they are loaded with calories but a little goes a long way here), a wee bit of gorgonzola crumbled (like a tbsp) and low fat raspberry viniagrette. It's incredible. Like truly delicious.

In additon to the food/workouts, I'm also on day four of Whole Body Cleanse by Enzymatic Therapy (my Mum work's there and I used to work there... best natural supplement products on the market hands down). I'm hoping the Cleanse will help shed a few extra pounds and at the very least, clean out any excess toxins that may be hindering the optimal performance of my body. For my fellow Canadians, I know that Noah's Natural Foods in Toronto carries this product and I highly recommend.

So that's my update.

Now for the bad news. This weekend is a long weekend where I live and I'll be headed to a friends cottage for golfing and relaxation all weekend. As with last weekend, I have every intention of working out, playing lots of golf and eating semi healthy. The reality of the situation is that I may drink my fair share. So we'll see how things go, I'm going to try and stick to white wine and vodka as they are the lowest in cals. And let's face it, I love both of those.
