And I've lost weight. And by virtue of my weights/circuit workouts, I know I've put on some muscle.
To be honest, I'm not doing much different than I was two days ago except I've started eating about 50-100 calories more a day in fruit (blackberries to be exact because I love them and a cup is only 60 calories). Because I'm not doing much differently, I just think my body is re-calibrating... or getting used to being tortured with vigorous exercise and restricted food (good, organic, non-processed food... but restricted food nonetheless).
For those of you reading this who are participating in the challenge as well, here is my day four info (you might find it helpful):
Workout:
45 minutes heavy interval bike cardio in morning
1 hour circuit weight training in evening (after which I could barely lift my arms to wash my hair...brutal)
Food:
1 green apple post workout (8:30)
all-bran and fat free yogurt (9:30)
low fat/low calorie PC blue menu chicken tikka masala (this is a canadian version of lean cuisine for all my american friends)
1 medium banana (3:30 p.m.)
1 slice 9 grain whole wheat bread, toasted (it's a small loaf so each slice is like 70 cals)
1 tbsp PB for my toast
1 scoop protein powder post weight workout (7:00)
scrambled eggs with salsa, a little bit of turkey and a huge salad with blackberries, chickpeas, peppers, etc.
enough water to drown me
Grand total calories (and I'm an OCD measurer so you can trust this): 1550
Again, I feel good. I think I've found the right balance of proteins to carbs... and good carbs too, none of this enriched white flour bullsh*t.
What's up next? The weekend. ugh.
This will be a challenge because I will have wine (and possibly a lot of it) and I won't be as regimented in my food consumption. On the other hand, I'll also be doing two workouts again tomorrow, and one both Saturday and Sunday... so we'll see how things net out on Monday morn when I weigh in. I have a magic weight loss number in my head and if I can make that with the weekend's debauchery, I'll be doing just fine.
Will post again, likely Sunday, to share how I managed (or didn't).
To see how my friend Emily is doing in her quest, check out fatgirltothin.blogspot.com. She's way funnier and doesn't use the swears like I do...so more pleasant to read.
